A loop-back pile sweatshirt featuring Cerberus on the front. The lightweight yet durable fabric resists deformation, with a unisex silhouette finished with ribbed cuffs and hem. The title and inscription below the artwork are derived from René Magritte’s “The Treachery of Images,” replacing “Ceci n’est pas une pipe (This is not a pipe)” with “Ceci n’est pas un chien” (This is not a dog)” as a reference to Cerberus.

—Designer’s Comment—
I found Cerberus to be adorable, so I started thinking about how to incorporate that into my work. The idea began with the notion that Cerberus is a dog but not really a dog, which led me to connect it with Magritte’s work, adding another layer of meaning.
The pipe painting is a work by the French surrealist René Magritte, featuring an image of a pipe with the phrase “This is not a pipe” written below it. While the painting depicts a pipe, it is not an actual pipe—it does not physically exist. By applying this concept to Cerberus, I introduce the context that “Cerberus is not a dog.”

ケルベロスが可愛かったのでこれをどう活かせるか、を考えて制作しました。犬だけど犬ではない、という点をマグリッドの作品と重ねたらもう一つ意味を追加できるな、という発想からスタートしています。
パイプの絵はルネ・マグリットというフランスのシュルレアリストの作品で、パイプの絵の下に「これはパイプではありません」という文が描かれています。この作品はパイプを描いていながら、こなパイプは本物ではない(=実在しない)ことを指して「これはパイプではない」と説明しており、これをケルベロスに転用することで「ケルベロスは犬ではない」というコンテクストを追加しています。

正面にケルベロスが配された裏パイル地のスウェット。
薄手ながらも型崩れしにくい生地で、冬ならジャケットの下に、春なら一枚で使えるオールラウンダー。男性なら少しゆったり目に、女性はタイト〜ややゆったり目に着ると肩が落ちてリラックスした雰囲気が出てクールです。
タイトルと絵画の下の文言はルネ・マグリッドの「イメージの裏切り(原題:The Treachery of Images)」の”Ceci n’est pas une pipe(これはパイプではない)”から引用し、”Ceci n’est pas un chien(これは犬ではない)”とケルベロスと掛けられています。
