The front of the shirt features a life-sized print of Christ’s body, enlarged from Caravaggio’s masterpiece The Incredulity of Saint Thomas.
Using the latest printing technology, the glossy finish recreates the luster of the skin, making it appear as though Christ’s flesh is emerging directly from the fabric.
On the back, the same Caravaggio painting is reintroduced alongside Thought I Was Dead by Tyler, the Creator. A Japanese-style speech bubble adds a pop-art nuance drawn from manga, infusing the piece with both contemporary wit and the dreamlike aesthetic of Utamaro’s ukiyo-e.
