—Designer’s Comment—
A piece based on Caravaggio’s David with the Head of Goliath.
The front features a boxed cutout of Goliath’s eye, while the back overlays that same eye with the HDMS logo.
The front and back are linked-repositioning the most striking element across both sides.
There is weight in the eye.
Referencing the theme of “eyes and gaze” explored by Takashi Murakami’s Superflat and Taro Okamoto, the front presents Goliath’s eye as “the watcher / the watched,”
while the back layers the DMS logo over what is often labeled “what must not be shown / what we don’t want to see”—
asserting it instead as what must be seen.

カラヴァッジョの『ゴリアテの首を持つダヴィデ』を編集した1枚。
胸元にはゴリアテの目をボックス型に切り出したプリントを、背中にはその目を覆うようにHDMSロゴを配置しています。
前後のデザインはリンクしており、最も印象的なパーツを再配置しています。
“目”には圧があります。

村上隆のスーパーフラット、岡本太郎も扱った「目／視線」というテーマを引用し、胸元では「見る者/見られる者」としてゴリアテの目を、背中では「見せてはいけない／見てほしくない」とされるものに、「見てほしいもの」としたのブランドロゴを重ねています。
